Cal OSHA has a vast amount of safety trainings that every employee must complete. To earn a “DOL card”, you may have to take OSHA Outreach course of 10- or 30-hour training. Even though it is highly recommended, they do not legally require it of you. However, employers may prefer or require the DOL card.

Since Cal OSHA has significantly distinct standards than the federal standards, their requirements are unique. Employers in California must be cautious in giving the correct trainings to their employees. Employees must be trained on every standard that they might encounter in the job relating to hazards.
